MATTERFIT is a bridge prototype that connects raw 3D shape information with estimated material and fabrication suggestions and speculative photorealistic interpolations / visualizations. Input is 3D based outfit sketches and a basic Material database MATTER. Both the 3D generation, as well as the estimated material and fabrication suggestions are speculative but focus on plausible realiszation. It is meant as a starting point – as visionary inspiration or quick visual prototyping for body hull or outfit generation – especially with a focus on sustainable, all compostable materials.

Gewachsener Kokon-Anzug
Ein tragendes Gerüst aus gewickelten Hanffasern wird mit einer wachsenden Myzel-Polsterung durchsetzt und mit einer Latexhülle verbunden, sodass ein ganzkörperumhüllender, biologisch gewachsener Kokon entsteht.
Kultivierte Bio-Hülle
Auf einem vergänglichen PHA-Grundkörper wird ein feines Netz aus Spinnenseide aufgebaut, das von Kombucha-Zellulose umwachsen wird, sodass eine nahtlose, biologisch gewachsene Hülle mit eingelagerten Blasen entsteht.
Modulare Kork-Haut
Ein vorgeformtes Grundgewebe aus Baumwolle und Flachs wird mit Korkformen als Blasen bestückt, anschließend mit Kautschuk verbunden und durch Chitosan-Beschichtung versiegelt, sodass eine flexible, schrittweise aufgebaute Hülle entsteht.
