Traditional outfit or body hull design is bound on Material properties, sewing techniques and draping. BODYPAINTER takes another route and claims the body as a canvas. BODYPAINTER is a drawing tool especially designed for drawing on 3D shapes, especially the human body. The drawing can be used as a simple sketch for inspiration but is a design tool at the same time. The drawing itself is of high resolution, even in low resolution mesh areas – and can be used to steer displacement of a second skin.

Having the proper second skin mesh opens up several possibilies to distill body related shapes. Using the Dot Product of the normal direction as distribution critteria lets you roughly simulate moss growth behavior, that settles in wet corners away from direct sunlight.

Blender comes with geometry nodes, a very powerful generative toolkit for 3D related work. See the rough workflow usesd for the upper examples.
