NoiseBySun is an experimental hardware noise sound synthesizer series. Each synth is based on a plain basic Hex Schmidt Trigger IC, a solar cell, some basic wiring and some random components 🙂 yeah. Each synth is soley powered by sunlight only – no batteries needed – an therefor the perfect outdoor electronic instrument. The cicuit produced very instable and chaotic sounds, that can be bend a little bit, but can’t be contolled entirely. The synth can output sound via several audio jacks and can be connected to proper synthesizer racks via CV signal – for some weird, but sunny chaos.
PLAST:TWO
An amazing synthesizer which converts any light energy source into brainhacking analog soundwalls. The further development of Hello Studios NagNag V1.0 has three chaos potentiometers and four circuit switches for you to perform music for your braincells. The machine is built to create very fast evolving bass and soundwalls. It can be used in almost any light situation, whether in- or outside.
PLAST:ONE
An exciting synthesizer which is also fully powered by light energy. Fast evolving random arpeggios can be controlled with wave inverting switches. The further development of Hello Studios NagNag V1.0 has two potentiometers, four circuit switches, and three metal contact field for skin resistance. Touch the synth to perform music for your braincells.

How to build your own solar synth!
Ralf Schreiber ( https://ralfschreiber.com/solarsound.html ) generously shared this fantastic invention years ago. It it riddiculous simple to realize even without any electronics knowledge. It is most easy to start with a breadboard first. Create the basic circuit first with these components like this:

parts list
IC (typ 74HC14),
3 resistors ( 1 x 10K (10 Kilo ohm), 1 x 1 K, 1 x 100 Ohm. )
3 capacitors
1 solarmodul (2-3 Volt)
1 piezo-speaker
+ many other parts you like, potis, LDR’s, diodes
You might also solder it freehand when you are more experienced.
