Protopia is an experimental collection of positive futuristic scenarios – illustrated and developed with common AI tools.
BIO ACTIVE WORKWEAR
The collection features modified living bio-materials derived from fungi, moss, and fern, which form the fabric of the clothing. These materials have been specifically chosen for their ability to interact with the human body and provide a range of benefits such as regulating body temperature, absorbing moisture, and providing natural antibacterial properties.
To complement the living bio-materials, we have used a flexible, eggshell-like silicone material that is both waterproof and breathable and can be thickened for impact proof usage. This material allows the clothing to move and flex with the wearer, providing a comfortable and secure fit even in the most challenging environments.
This bio-wear collection also incorporates common integrated bio-computing modules that can be customized to meet individual needs. In addition, an optimized energy harvesting network that utilizes body heat, skin chemicals, photosynthesis, and physical motion is used to power the common sensing and computing needs of the outfit device hive.
BIODIVERSITY WORKERS
Biodiversity workers use special backpacks to restore damaged ecosystems. These backpacks not only contain seeds and plants for distribution, but also feature simple bio-computing technology. This allows for easy mobile digital communications and simple task accomplishment without the need for an external power supply – through simple photosynthesis and bioengineered circuits.
By spreading different plant species into these regions, biodiversity workers could help rebuild important habitats and provide food and shelter for a variety of animal species. Additionally, using these backpacks could help promote local biodiversity and improve the overall health of the ecosystem.
BIODIVERSITY HIVES
These bio-homes combine living, growing, and bio lab facilities to combat climate change. These roadhomes serve as both a home and a workplace and are equipped with a plethora of bio tools, seed banks, and automated gardening systems. While they can function off-grid, they work best when clustered together in a hive-like environment.
Designed to revive and rejuvenate industrial wastelands, these bio-homes offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of mega-cities while also integrating with existing social structures in rural areas. The selection and placement of each unit depend on the needs of the biosphere in a wider local range. The units themselves function as bio sensing stations, gathering critical data that can be shared with others. Moreover, these roadhomes are also bio incubators that house globally approved modified plants and seeds, perfect for tackling challenging bio conditions.
The settlements of these units go beyond mere functionality and serve as a catalyst for creating a vibrant and dynamic social structure comprising people from diverse backgrounds. Whether it’s a spontaneous or long-term settlement, it is part of a larger sustainability concept that strives to provide a good quality of life for all humans on the planet.
Nature is in a constant state of flux and inter connectivity, and these bio-homes are a reflection of these principles of biodiversity. They embody the idea that everything in nature is interconnected, and by creating sustainable living environments, we can build a harmonious relationship with the natural world.
