One crucial feature of working with synthetic characters is the possibility to steer them with proper voice and pose acting done IRL. While working with fully synthetic characters with pure synthetic steeting, we have a hard time dealing with uncanny visuals, so it is a obvious to use the real acting and proper human input to produce relevant videos and animations. This combines the advantages of both worlds in one workflow.

TURBOVIDEO is a plain simple video recording software for mobile camera. It comes with a bare minimum of features, like front- or back camera selection, record pausing and video download. It works for both portrait or landscape and should be recognized as a practice tool / sketch tool for video production.

With JS/WEBGL we can create interesting webcam effects for realtime – like filters. We can also play with the playback time/timecode to access new perspectives to our recorded material. The following experiments show different approaches to play with that method.
